The Denner Ensemble’s debut CD champions ensemble music making. The CD’s programme balances Italianate and French works for woodwind violin and harpsichord from known composers such as Telemann and Lully, and the lesser known LaLande and Rebel. The group explores their differing approaches to ensemble in terms of structure, timbre and style. In this respect the compilation of Philidor pieces is the perfect introduction to the CD.
